I heart New York City!

One of our favorite adventures came about because of a car. A car named Jersey....This is the story about Jersey and our NYC trip: My summer incentive at a certain number of security systems sold was to get a new car--a new lexus that I had my eye on. I reached my goal and we started looking for my car. Now this particular car in all wheel drive was hard to find. In fact, there were only three for sale in the whole country. We were living in South Carolina at the time and the closest of the three was in New Jersey (hence the name Jersey). So Austin and I, the crazy kids that we are, decided to take a trip and pick up my car. Boy was I excited. We took a plane at about 5AM one morning into Maryland and then took a train (my first real train ride) into Philadelphia. Philadelphia was splendid but we only spent about 10 minutes there before we hopped on a taxi to take us to Jersey. The adventure doesn't end here. Once in the new car in New Jersey we decided that since we were so close to NYC we would take a road trip and spend the day there. With the nav leading the way, the music up and windows down we were on our way to the greatest place ever. Once there we spent the day walking around, shopping, taking pictures and just enjoying each others company in the place we first met. Austin then had a special dinner planned at Serendipity! What a great surprise! (We love this restaurant and used to say our meeting was "serendipitous" but now we believe that it was meant to be). He ended up slipping the waiter five bucks under the table for a serendipity menu as a keepsake for me. It is now hanging in our house. We then drove the 10 hours home...well Austin drove the ten hours home--I tend to fall asleep driving on roadtrips and he has an awesome talent of driving long distances with little sleep or food and being perfectly content. Needless to say we spent the whole next day in bed recuperating from our long but fabulous adventure. This small random trip ended up being on of our favorite memories while married! Not to mention the beautiful car I got out of it! =) Thank you honey!
