We had a wedding dinner at the Little America Hotel with our families the night before our wedding day to make our big day more relaxed--which worked out wonderfully! After dinner we went to his parents house so I could try on my wedding dress with my new underwear (of course I did not let him see me in my dress). As a side note you may ask why I waited until the night before to have a final dress fitting--the reason being I had surgery the week before our wedding (on a previous health condition). Yuck. I spent the week before our wedding laying in bed, drugged up. Just ask people about my bridal shower (that's a funny story for another time but Austin was basically my proxy at my bridal shower ha ha ha). Back to my story--as I was trying on my dress (this was around midnight mind you) I ripped the armpit...I guess I had been working out a lot and my back muscles were a lot stronger...or something. So my cousin, Ryann, Austin's mom and I spent the next hour freaking out and finally resolving to hand stitch the hole back together. At that point I practiced hugging them about 50 times (because wedding days involve many, many hugs) without lifting my arms too much to avoid re-tearing the hole--what a night to remember! Austin was downstairs playing arcade with my cousin's new husband at the time so he didn't realize all the chaos until I told him much later (I didn't want to ruin the wedding spirit!) Anyway, I slept that night (all alone) in our new house (all of my family had rooms at the Grand America)... now I wonder why I didn't get a room there to be with my family that night...but being all alone made the night more adventurous plus I never actually slept because Austin and I texted each other the whole night about how excited we were. Early the next morning I got my hair and make up done and then met Austin at his parents house to write thank you notes to our parents and to write an email to his sweet brother who was going to miss the big day because he was on his mission in Chile. Poor Jordan =( The best man then brought us some cafe rio (yummy) because he knew we probably wouldn't eat much the whole day. That cafe rio was a life safer--thank you Adam! We got married at 1:30 in the afternoon and then spent an hour or so taking pictures outside (we actually spent most of the time in the Joseph Smith building because I was literally numb from the cold). Our photographers camera ended up freezing from the cold so we only got a few pictures at the temple together. I am still trying to convince Austin to let us get some retake pictures in our wedding attire at the temple when the weather is nice---I think he is finally caving in so that might happen soon! YAY! Anyway after pictures Austin and I ended up hanging out in the temple for an hour because they were holding us ransom for the locker key that my mom had accidentally taken with her when she left the temple--it really wasn't that bad to be held ransom by sweet, little old ladies though---they were gawking at my dress the whole time (they told me they were impressed because it was very unique looking and because I designed it myself). Anyway they finally let us leave (even without the key--I think they felt bad). We then headed over to the 23rd Floor where we were having our reception to take some more pictures before the reception started. Here are some pictures of the best (and coldest) day of our lives! =)
