ARRRGGGGH Matey!

The Overman family, Austin and I got invited to Pirate's Cove by the owner late saturday--we were so stoked (well I had no idea what Pirate's Cove was but I was stoked because Austin was jumping around like a little giddy boy)!!! We got ready for the weekend and headed out on our 7 hour roadtrip to Las Vegas at about 9PM. Austin was a trooper and drove the whole way while his sister Alyse and I slept. Good thing he has no trouble staying awake on long night time drives. We got to Pirates Cove at about 4 in the morning and needless to say, it was too dark for me to see much of anything. The only thing I was capable of at that time was sleepily stumbling to bed (which was probably the biggest and most comfortable bed I'd ever slept in). Austin woke up early early and I told him to come back to bed for a little longer--about half hour later I woke him up by jumping on the bed and yelling that he HAD to get up cuz we were at PIRATES COVE! (I still had little idea what this cove actually was but I was ecstatic!). We hurried and got on our bathing suits and headed out (his family had come while we were alseep and they were already up enjoying the "cove"). As we walked out onto the balcony I was in awe---pirates cove is a bunch of "casitas" or guesthouses that are surrounded by palm trees, pools, waterslides, skeletons, pirate stuff galore, bridges, ships, a gym, pool tables, racketball courts, endless amounts of ICECREAM, waterfalls, caves, arcades, hot tubs, hammocks, firepits, and much much more! Basically being at Pirate's Cove is like being on a luxurious pirate ship. Austin's family and I were the only people there so we got to enjoy every little bit of Pirate's Cove without having to worry about other guests! We spent the rest of the day swimming, playing on a rope swing, sliding down waterslides, diving off masts, relaxing in hot tubs, sleeping in hammocks, having sword fights, and eating lots of icecream! We ended the night by making smores and watching a movie on the big screen...and then another night in the comfy, big bed. We woke up not wanting to leave this wonderful place--but we had to get back to real life. sigh. Luckily, Austin's little brother is making a video of Pirates Cove once the new addition is built so we know we will get to go back soon. YAY! As a side note...I came back with a newfound love for pirates--I will be embracing "talk like a pirate" day and other pirate things from now on---"be ye warned" ;)
