I LOVE to see the Temple!

The beautiful Manhattan Temple! I love it!

I still need to post about our 300 party and our date night on the roof but I wanted to quickly post about our visit to the Manhattan Temple today!! It was truly amazing and I have never been in a temple like it. I read online that the Manhattan Temple is one of the most unique temples in the world. A special thing about this temple for me is that it shares a building with the chapel Austin and I met in. On one side you use the elevators to go to the floors for the meetinghouse and on the other side you walk into the temple doors and use the elevators for the temple floors. It really is a cool setup and once you step inside you can feel that whoever designed it was truly inspired. We have been wanting to go to a session in this temple since we got here and we finally made it! YAY! To make it to the 6:00 AM session I had to be up at 5AM and this mornnign I only dropped a few things on my feet, poked my eye only twice with the mascara wand, and only fell asleep standing up in the bathroom once--so it was a relatively good morning for me! I feel so bad for Austin though because he has been going strong since he got up at 5:30 AM and now it is 11 PM here and he is still not home from work!!! Talk about a hard worker--He amazes me. I know that today he was blessed though! It was such a beautiful experience to go to the temple out here and to go back to the place where Austin and I met (we went back for conference one year when we were engaged but haven't been back since we've been married). It is also so wonderful to be able to go to the temple and feel so peaceful and calm even in such a big, noisy, dirty city! We ended up getting a $65 parking ticket (apparently that meter was only a 1 hr. meter) but it was totally worth it!!! After the temple we went and ate at this little diner by our apartment building--Austin had an icecream sunday waffle!! I really should have gotten a picture of it because it was delicious (how could icecream on a waffle not be delicious!?) I really am excited right now for my hubby to be home--I miss him when he is at work but it is such a wonderful feeling that I get to keep him forever!

The "ticket".
