Before Chicago we ate at La Masseria...it is a fancy little italian restaurant right off Times Square and we had heard good things about it and it just so happened to be right next to Chicago so it worked out perfectly. It was very good and even though they had a large selection of pastas, I created my own dish (I combined 2 different entrees) and I hate to say this but everyone agreed that my dish was by far the best. Not to say that the rest of the dishes weren't good because everyone liked their entrees and I know Austin was just salivating over his salmon and his mash potatoes were so delectable!
We also went to the MET again! We browsed my favorite gallery (with Monet, Picasso and Van Gogh paintings). I also took Austin through the superhero exhibit and he had to admit, it was pretty very cool!
Here is some of my favorite art!
Also in pictures---we went to Johnny Rockets out here--hmm, food--not so good, but it was fun to see the servers dance (and you can choose the music in the restaurant for 5 cents at your table's mini jukebox--- My favorite part of the $40 meal (NYC prices for ya) was the shake...you can never go wrong with icecream, right?
After dancing to "Respect", our server pointed to me and said "that was for you!"
And then he wrote "Happy Marriage" on our receipt!
Austin and I have finally been able to go on a couple date nights...however, since they don't start until around 11 pm (and people are always at our apartment so we never have alone time there) we have one of two options--movies or restaurants that are open late...Some of our dates over the past couple of weeks: we saw "Get Smart", now I was cracking up the ENTIRE TIME but I don't know if it was because the movie was actually laugh out loud funny or if it was just because I was so excited and giddy to have some alone time with Austin. But I would definitely recommend it; Also we went to a delish mexican place out here called "On the Border"--it has the HOTTEST salsa I have ever had. I love hot stuff but I swear my eyes were watering, my nose was running and my mouth and lips were numb by the time the food actually came out; Another night we just pulled out our sofa bed and ate Skittles while watching The Jerk. We ended up falling asleep on the sofa bed which was kinda lumpy and small but it was fun to change it up for a night. Has anyone seen the Jerk? It is an OLD classic with Steve Martin and it is SO FUNNY! I love it!
Oh and we had 2 firefighters show up at our house yesterday. We were watching 24 with a whole bunch of reps (we are starting the series over for the third time) and we heard a knock at the door and our first reaction was to do nothing because no one ever knocks--after a couple more knocks we started yelling "come in" and finally one of the guys got up and answered the door and there were 2 firemen standing there--one holding a hose and I think the other was getting ready to kick the door in. We had been hearing the fire alarm go off outside our apartment but we hear it at least once a day so we didn't think anything of it--little did we know the alarm was going off because of the popcorn Jake burned!!! After the initial searching around to make sure everything was okay the firemen looked out our big floor to ceiling windows and literally gasped---I guess we have a pretty good view of the city from our aparrtment =) Our apartment is on the top floor of a high rise building--it is the 20th floor and it is considered a "penthouse". I live in a "penthouse", it doesn't get any better than that. It's pretty sweet---we spend a lot of time on the roof or the balcony! It is beautiful to see the sunset over the city--I'll try to get some pictures and post them.
Pinkberry=happiness! =)

The aformentioned song my sister commented on my husband has as his ring tone...yeah, I know.
My family ate at La Masseria before we went and saw 'Rent' (also a little risque) and they had the yummiest cheesecake ever!
I love the movie 'Chicago' but I haven't seen it on Broadway to compare.
I loved that you got a picture of the fire fighters and the waiter pointing at you. Too funny - you must always have that thing handy!
