An "Elle" of a weekend!
This last sunday we had a picnic in central park after church. We had our car with us because we didn't want to take our cooler of drinks, blankets, extra clothes, and bags of food with us into the church---but that may have been a better idea than driving around in the city that day. It took us about an hour and a half to park (we drive in the city a lot and we're usually pretty lucky with parking) because there was a Jewish parade going on. We did learn a lot about Jews that day however, we learned that yamakas can be any color—we saw bright pink, green, black, etc. and we also learned that yamacas are kept in place by a simple hair clip. I guess it all came down to the fact that we saw more Jews that day than we had in our lifetime--times about a million. But we finally found parking on a different side of the park and it ended up being nice because it was a part of the park we hadn't seen. Some of the guys stayed in their church clothes because they were going home after the picnic. Well, one thing lead to another and all of a sudden all of the guys started doing their usual stunts in their church clothes. None of them bothered to even take off their ties. A couple of ladies came over and asked why they were doing cheerleading stunts in suits. A couple more ladies came over to ask them to do some tricks over again so they could take pictures. I think the boys are going to be doing stunts in central park every sunday because it has proven to pick up on the ladies. We also saw Legally Blonde on broadway. It was really good--- spunky and fun. Everything was decorated in pink and everyone was dressed in pink (even the guys most of the time) but Austin still enjoyed it, mostly because it had some pretty dumb humor and there were a lot of fun dances. I always joke with my dad that if I go to law school I will be like "Elle Woods" - since I love fashion and I love anything pink and girly. Anyway, on the topic of broadway plays-- I am trying to be patient about seeing Wicked on broadway because that is the one I want to see the most and have been wanting to see since it came to broadway--but my parents are coming to NYC for a vacation and they are planing on taking us to see it (although Austin has already seen it) but I decided I can't wait until then so I will probably just go twice!! Anyway, like I said, it was an "Elle" of a weekend.

How fun!! I would love to go to that show! and YES... I am still super jealous that you live in New York!!
I love Legally Blonde the movie - so I am sure I would enjoy the broadway show as well. I too want to see Wicked - you will have to post about that show for sure. Also, those dried Mangos (in your park pictures) are a fave of mine. I could eat the whole bag if they weren't so sweet.
I wanted to see Legally Blonde while we were there but Josh said "not a chance." I hear it's super cute- and you really are just like Elle, lol. You'll LOVE Wicked, it was amazing. Right when it ended I wanted to watch it again!
Hey we do need to get together! We are only a four hour train ride away so no excuses!!! Rich takes off for Afghanistan again next saturday so maybe you could come see me for a weekend or vice versa! Lets plan something!
