carlsbad day #3

another 10 hours at the beach =

A gash (more like a gaping hole) in my foot from glass in the sand.
which promptly resulted in a swollen foot-making it quite difficult to jump, play, swim...or you know...walk.
a trip to the lifeguard station. scratch that. 2 trips to the lifeguard station. (thanks to my trusty pack mule).
and a visit from the lifeguard (well stocked medical kit in tow).

(this is only a reenactment, do not attempt at home.)
promptly after she shouts, "help! I can't get them off. seriously. they're stuck!"

i can't forget this. she's been doing it since we were kids.  i don't think she'll ever stop.
my mom comes from a family of 6 daughters. no sons. Renee is the youngest daughter at only 9 months older than me. she's been more like a sister to her nieces than an aunt. all these ladies have been like sisters to me.
 i sure love them.
i had such a lovely time. can't wait for the carlsbad 2011 trip! the legacy of the garbini girls must live on.
