MAUI day 4

We woke up early (4 AM) to drive to Kihei to spend the morning scuba diving.
The water was so Chopp-Y we ended up being the only boat to dive molokini. At one point I was the ONLY person in the water, being heaved up and down because of the waves--pushed farther and farther away from the boat. I felt like I was in a diving nightmare-- I must say, I was very grateful for the regulator in my mouth!
On the boat, heading to our 2nd dive site, all 5 divers were so nauseous we almost became like the "puking asian"--good thing they had some sprite and crackers onboard.

Doctor appointment after doctor appointment my ears were finally healed enough for more diving. Nose sprays, de-congestents, and lots of steroids later I was prepared. I wasn't prepared, however, for the bloody noses I got during each ascent. They weren't painful or anything but it's a little bit nerve racking to dive with sharks then come to the surface with a mask full of blood--but I guess it's all part of the thrill of diving.

Life "under-the-sea" is truly a-mazing! (I did feel a bit like little mermaid, minus the shells).
We got so close to these eels before we saw them that we almost swam right into them--they gave me the heebie jeebies.. seriously, that is all I have to say about them.

We came across a bunch of white tipped sharks.  It was so surreal to me that I started swimming TOWARD the sharks (for picture purposes of course), I didn't get very far because Austin grabbed ahold of a fin and told me "no, no" with his finger. Later the dive master told me he had NEVER had anyone swim toward the sharks, usually divers swim AWAY from the sharks. HA HA. Later we saw more white tipped sharks sleeping in a cave.
We also came across a whole bunch of sea turtles at what is called a "cleaning station". It was so interesting to be 70+ft down and watch the turtles swim up to the surface for air and back.

This picture of Austin, with his billowing locks, should really be in a diving magazine or something.
After diving we went back for showers and naps. We were hungry hippos so we took a trip to the Gazebo Restaurant.  Usually the wait for a table is an hour+ but we got a table immediately. Austin is one lucky duck and I sure reap the benefits. And my-o-my were the macadamia nut, banana, pineapple pancakes with butterscotch whip cream heavenly.
Afterward we looked for treasure in the lava fields at Napili beach.
We spent the rest of the day watching the pro surfers at Honolua Bay.
WOW.
We watched another sunset & I played around with the camera.

We ended the day with some late night sushi in Kapalua @ the famous Sensei.
