it became a daily ritual for us to get a snow cone at ululani's hawaiian shaved ice...the ONLY place to get shaved ice on Maui. My flavor of choice, each and every time? Cotton Candy. yum.
We explored Lahaina, bought books at the oldest, cutest used book store from the oldest, cutest lady.
We spent some time at the Banyan tree park. Can you believe this is ONE tree?
austin spent some time listening to this preacher man. i spent some time laughing at him while he listened to this preacher man.
went on a whale-watching tour. We saw over 100 breaches from one baby whale alone. We saw many more breaches from other whales as well. it was so windy and the water was so ChOpPY, good thing i bought some bonine at the last minute or i would have been like the "puking asian" (as we so fondly named him) throwing up over the side and in the garbage every few minutes. needless to say we spent the entire tour on the deck because it seriously REEKED below. We were lucky enough to have a pod of spinner dolphins decide to surf the waves from our boat most of the tour. they ended up being more of a highlight than the whales!
one cool cat @ cool cats, doing what he loves--reading. fabulous burger and free rootbeer floats, we'll take that any day.
we spent some more time in banyan park. this time we had the park to ourselves so austin "dared" me to climb the tree. i did. then i got stuck. what you don't see is me jumping down into austin's arms. good thing he was a cheerleader and has had practice catching girls when they fall.
that night we went to the dinner show at Warren and Annabelle's in Lahaina. oohhhh my goodness, i can not speak highly enough of this place. (much thanks to THIS pretty lady for the recommendation!) it was the BEST, funniest, most-entertaining, most-interesting haunted, comedic magic show we have ever seen. well worth the money and i wish, wish, wish we would have gone a second time to see different magicians.
happy weekend!!! sunday is my favorite day because i get to spend it with my husband. yay!
