MAUI day 1

i've been dreading blogging about our hawaii vacay because as wonderful + fabulous + incredible as it was, blogging about it would be exhausting. too exhausting and much too time consuming. nevertheless, after putting it off for 2 months now, i've decided to take it slow...just baby steps...one day at a time. so here is maui day 1. when looking at these pictures i can almost imagine being there--feeling carefree, happy, peaceful, in love, and stuffed (from all the good food and treats of course). it's a grand feeling and moments like these make me glad that my camera is permanently attached to me. although my photo-taking bothers most others around me and occasionally austin, and my non-professional pictures often bother me--i think i do have a love affair with my camera. and hopefully the overload of pictures doesn't bother the blogging world also. it's not hard to see we have much love for maui and much love for you all.

after much of this, and a night spent in L.A., we finally arrived in Maui around 11 AM without our luggage... which meant no change of clothes/no bathing suits our entire first day in Maui. Surprisingly, Maui was still a lot of fun while fully clothed.
Rented a jeep.
and ate at mama's fish house for lunch. delightful. you must go, just to get the sweet potato fries.
hung out in Kaua Cove.

got laid at our hotel.  watched the nightly cliff jumping.
enjoyed a hawaiian sunset.
Walked the pathway between kaanapali and Lahaina. watched hula dancers. ate at the hula grill in the pouring rain. i must say, i have one handsome husband. o-i heart him so.

hammock time, chocolate covered macadamia nuts, and a cliff diver--random pictures but they pretty much sum up our vacation...we relaxed, explored & ate. perfect.
goodnight.

Oh Layla we have so much in common and if we lived closer we would be best friends. Tell Austin to work in LA next summer and then we can go shopping at Anthro, try new restaurants, and take pictures of everything. I'm so glad someone else has a picture obsession besides me because sometimes I think Al gets annoyed:)
