today

i've spent my day:
sitting on the a/c unit in my apartment
phone & camera in hand
plate of the most delicious oatmeal chocolate chip cookies next to me
watching
russell brand run around screaming--wearing only a speedo and tube socks.
(yes i do have pictures and i will post them once i load them onto my laptop)

Warner Bros. is filming the movie Arthur right outside my apartment.
{starring russell brand, jennifer garner and helen mirren...that's all they told me about anyway.)
If I walk outside my complex I am in the middle of the set.
I have heard "cuuuut" and "filming!" way more times than I ever thought possible.

a few hours ago I decided to be brave and politely watch a scene outside by the set--
not more than a few minutes later a crew member tapped me on the
shoulder & told me (not very nicely either) to move because I was in the middle of the scene. oops.
{being the cause of a take to "cuuuuttttt" is all the fame I'm ever going to experience.}

So now I am back at my post on the a/c unit, gaining insight into the tedious, time consuming, exertion that goes into filming ONE scene. {and probably gaining weight from all of the oatmeal cookies I've eaten today.}

I sure feel bad for the guy who has to follow russell brand around with an umbrella to shade him from the sun. I also feel bad for the guy who has to hold a platter of food for helen mirren so she can sit and eat in between takes.

i <3 new york.

I love New York too. Can't I just come out and spend a few days with you? I wish! I remember the first time I watched filming and saw that an entire days worth of work was a just a couple of minutes on screen. I think I would lose my mind if I were them!

"I looked out my window and what did I see..." Not what you're seeing, that's for sure! You are having way to much fun, Layla. Never come back to boring Utah.

That sounds soo cool! I hope you are in the movi, even if it's just for a split second, so I can watch it, and say, "I follow that girl's blog". Selling summer security sometimes has it's perks!
