You come to New York to find the ambiance that will evoke your best...

... You do not necessarily know precisely what that might be, but you come to New York to discover it.
-Dr. James Hillman

I had yet another fun filled weekend! It looks like all we ever do is play but trust me, Austin works harder in 4 months than most people do in a whole year. We deserve and relish all the play time we get! We try to cram in as much as possible during Austin's time off. Here are some highlights:
Austin and I went with our friend Adam and his cute fiancee, Brittany to see Maroon 5 & Counting Crows in concert--Sara Bareilles opened for them. It was an amazing concert--one of the BEST I have ever been too. The theatre is right by Jones beach and the stage is surrounded by the ocean. It was spectacular.

"I am the rain king"

Maroon 5

One of my favorite songs from Maroon 5 playing in the background--"she will be loved".

Sierra and I had a much needed "girls day".

We ate an AMAZING breakfast at Cafe Lalo.

Look at all those desserts in the background--they have cupcakes with 4 inches of frosting (isn't that the best part), unique flavors of cheesecake and cakes decorated so perfectly they could be layers on a wedding cake.

We shared the "Lalo's special" (frozen yogurt with berries) and the belgian waffle with cinnamon whipped cream and strawberries. Yummy! It was one of the best breakfasts I have ever had!

Sierra's uncle is involved in the broadway play "Jersey Boys" so he got us free house tickets to see it! The seats were awesome and the play was really fun. It's about Frankie Valli and the 4 seasons--you may not know their name but you'd recognize their songs. Some popular songs are-- "walk like a man", "big girls don't cry", & "can't take my eyes off of you", etc. They were once as big as the Beatles. The songs in the play were the band's hits--so everyone sang and clapped along. The play was set up so that the audience was portrayed as the audience at the 4 Seasons different concerts they performed. It was very cool.

We then went to a swap meet and sampled all the different foods people were selling.

Smoothies that looked delicious when they were being made but were in fact, not delicious. Bummer.

Arepas--sweet corn with mozzarella cheese. Sierra compared them to a grilled cheese sandwich--I wasn't too fond of these either.
The corn was the highlight of my food tasting (as you can see by the following picture). Roasted sweet corn with butter, salt and pepper, lime juice, parmesan cheese and chili pepper. There was just a little too much chili pepper on mine...after eating the corn my mouth was numb and my lips were red and puffy. Oh, but it was so yummy!
We also went to the Rockefeller center, did some shopping and saw the movie "Mamma mia." It was cute but DEFINITELY cheesy. I can't believe Pierce Brosnan was in such a girlie movie!

This is the view from the look out point at the movie theatre--the movie theatre is 5 stories high and Mamma Mia was playing on the top floor.

More pictures from last weekend (these are for you Sierra so you can steal them from my page!)
I bought a whole pound of jelly belly's. They had the most unique flavors. It was jelly belly heaven for me! I woke up one night & found Austin sitting in the living room snacking on my jelly bellys. I guess he couldn't sleep...or maybe he was just having some sort of mad jelly belly craving (it must have been those dr. pepper flavored beans).
