Kauai 2011 was probably my all-time favorite vacay.
just go and see for yourself.
The chicken population on Kauai has definitely surpassed the human population.
They are seriously taking over.
I, mistakenly, ordered chicken at a restaurant one night and wa-la the
next day I had food poisoning. I don't even want to think about
where that chicken I ate came from.
hiking the Na Pali coast.
after getting lost for 45 minutes because of a misplaced carin and a badly
swollen, bloody, twisted ankle for me, we finally made it to the falls.
I had fully intended on swimming but by the time we made it up there all those intentions had completely left me. So Austin swam on his own and I feared for his life!
We went to a secret beach and got stuck. Since it was so
secret we had to wait FOREVER for a local to show up and help pull us out.
We had to flatten our tires and there was some bumper damage.
but it made for a good adventure.
Oh and we did see someone nude on the beach while we were there.
kipu falls.
yes i did jump. no rope swing for me though! austin, however, rocked the rope swing.
we were fortunate to have lots of alone time at the beach...and everywhere else we went.
i have no pictures of our dives--however, i did come face to face with a shark. no bluffing. he was sleeping in a cave and when i went in the cave and shone my flashlight on him he woke up and quickly swam toward me. when he stopped our faces were a mere 2 feet apart. fortunately i must not have been too threatening because he promptly swam away. pheeewww. (i do believe i almost passed out from lack of oxygen because i had completely stopped breathing!)
kauai is a fabulous place to celebrate 4 years of marriage or anything for that matter.
now i am thinking about where to celebrate next year.
any suggestions?

Layla love all your pics. You are beautiful and I love all your outfits. I wish you lived in CA because we would totally be friends :)
I love looking at your blog and pictures! Happy Anniversary - I am glad it was so fabulous!! My suggestion is St. Thomas!! That's where we went on our honeymoon and we went back on a cruise. It's beautiful and has great food, scuba, and shopping!!
I am seriously so jealous of your vacation (and your swim suits :)) I've never been to Hawaii, but I vow to go someday!!
Happy 4 Years!!! Hawaii is such a romantic beautiful place... we also LOVE Mexico... you have to stay at an all inclusive resort, and it is so great! Maybe you could try that next year!
I LOVE your pictures. Looks like you two had a fabulous time in Hawaii... Thanks for sharing! And CONGRATS on four years! You guys are both too cool to be married for 4 years.. most people get boring, but you always have new adventures! I love it. Miss ya!!!
