Washington 2010

Back in September we were invited to Leadbetter Farms up in Long Beach, Washington.  The same guy that owns Pirates Cove near Lake Mead in Nevada owns this property too.
It is equally spectacular. If you have been to Pirates Cove you will understand how amazing his properties are. Lucky us!
I had never been to Washington and I seriously was in awe at how beautiful it is there! As much as I loved it, I did NOT love the constant rain. I think I was chanting "rain, rain go away-come again another day" the entire time. I am so much more of a sunshine person! (side note, constant rain/humidity=my awful, ugly mess of hair-it was atrocious!).
Leadbetter Farms consisted of
a manmade lake with canoes/boats,
a lighthouse (every floor is a master suite),
a "barn" (stalls of rooms, gym, an incredible room where the entire thing is one big bed with a tv on the ceiling, etc.)
A real ship turned into the perfect place for a family to stay with the "captain" and "crew" rooms,
beautiful property,
and a beach!!!
Dune-buggies and four-wheelers.

 rollerblades, bikes, jeeps.
 trail biking.
{yes, I have a barbie helmet on...the only one that would fit my teeny head!}
 kite-flying.
 horseback riding.

 the beach.

sand castle making.
(another side note, isn't aunt Jane so snazzy in her gold, glittery hat? She is 90 years old, has a rockin "old-lady" style, skydived last year and plans to bungie jump this year, works out 4x a week, takes tai quan do lessons, dog sits, goes on "girls trips" to her beach house monthly, travels the world and is just plain amazing! I aspire to be like her when I am 90!)
found my first sand dollar ever. then found 49 more. i'm now 50x luckier.

lots of cooking & yummy food.
pool playing.
movie watching.
Hot-tubbing.

the one that looks like the mushroom on mario will kill you with just a taste.
frog kissing.
tusk planting in the swamp land.

and tree houses!
swiss-family style.
complete with full, luxurious, master suites with bathrooms and kitchens.
i.n.c.r.e.d.i.b.l.e.
(wish i had some pictures of the suites)
 rope-swinging.
 and gnomes. lots of gnomes.
marshmallow roasting/smore making in the indoor room dedicated to just that.
sunsets.
fog.

wildlife. (including the loch ness monster-crazy, i know!)
all i can say is that it was a delightful trip. so delightful.
it's a place made up of the things little kids dream of.
thanks for dreaming craig--and letting us join in the fun! :)

I am totally digging the tree house suites. Washington is beautiful. When we went there it only rained once the whole week we were there. So I thoroughly enjoyed my time there :) Everyone was amazed that was possible.
