Happy October!

It has only been a few weeks since I have blogged about our life in the great state of Utah but I've decided that 2 weeks is way too long to go without blogging because now I am left with 101 pictures to post while attempting to keep you readers interested and intrigued throughout this, what will prove to be, seemingly long post (and I am writing this while it's incredibly late). That being said, I'll post pictures and write captions. Feel free to make your own commentary- just make sure that if you come up with something good you leave a comment.
Gran (Austin's grandma) turned 70. We went to the birthday potluck. Everyone brought a salad. I guess that's all anyone can afford now in this economy. Just kidding. I brought fruit soup (I've been saving my pennies). Happy Birthday Gran. We owe you a night on the town.

My BFF Jill had a baby in September. Little Cruz Bostock is beautiful. I wish I lived closer to them so I could see him (and Jill & Drew) everyday! I love them!
The Garbini Family reunion in Snowflake Arizona (pretty much the middle of no where). The pictures speak for themselves. I will say, however, that Austin and I were definitely having a "city slickers" type experience the entire time...don't laugh, with no running water and no electricity I am sure anyone could feel like a city slicker.
Our scarecrow: "mr. jughead".

Shavon claimed him as her boyfriend. Sorry Pat.

Herding wild goat with 4-wheelers. This has to be something straight from a movie.

"virginia, virginia" skits. The Hulk Josh and his wife Ryann.

Shavon and Austin. Jane Fonda moves.

Indian petroglyphs. And our shadows.

Beautiful canyon.

Austin practicing his gansta shooting.

22 long pistol (don't ask me what that means). An accurate shot.

Who doesn't love skeet shooting?

All of the cousins (and aunt) except for Shavon. I love these girls.

My littlest cousin. Isn't he adorable. He looks like he was howling but he is really saying "see ya".

Halloween + tradition of seeing the production Thriller = one good time. Loved it as always. This year they had a few new dances that rocked our world.

I was honestly scared. What you can't see is Austin choking me.
Dinner with Tara. She's a babe. So is her daugher Em. I'm excited to be your "sorta" neighbor Tara.

Jason and Missy had a killer Halloween party. Dinner was delish. The people were wonderful. The laughs were many. And the pumpkin carving...was well disgusting really--but fun! Thanks Streiffs for a splendid party! We are going to love living one street over from you guys!
This year we dressed up as "vintage Barbie & Ken." Love it.

For Halloween weekend we went up to a cabin in Bear Lake with some of our friends. We had a party that night and just hung out the rest of the weekend. We played games, watched movies, ate LOTS of food and just chatted. It was a great time.
Barbie and Ken. Prize: Male best look alike award. What am I saying look alike? Austin is Ken.

Making home made rootbeer. Yes, it took all of us.

Our frothy rootbeer. Dry ice does wonders.

Dolly & Mike. AKA: Fire hydrant and Dog. Prize: Most Creative. Your Creativity is out of this world Dolly. I just can't believe she got her husband to dress up as a dog. He must be on a short leash... he he he.

Heather & Dustin. AKA: Sarah Palin & unknown. Prize: Female best look a like.

Melanie & Tysen. AKA: Rockstar & 80's pop singer. Prize: The Hannah Montana award.

Jessica & Travis. AKA: Mr. & Mrs. Smith. During the making of this picture I was confused and surprised--mostly because the whole night I thought they were Brother & Sister Smith. Oops. Prize: 2 costumes in one award.

Long lost lovers/soul mates.

BBQing--a man thing.

The end of a splendid weekend!

Pay it forward WINNERS:

Anyone who commented was included in the drawing--even if they didn't leave an interesting fact about themselves. Austin randomly drew 3 numbers out of a hat. The 3 numbers were: 2, 7, 9. The WINNERS (the commenters associated with those numbers) are: Chelsie, Missy, and Melanie. Congratulations ladies!
We are moving into a new house tomorrow (that's an entirely separate blog) so I won't be sending out your packages for at least a week--but I promise to send them as soon as I get some free time. Send me an email with your address- LKS0914 at GMAIL (dot) com

I think that is hilarious that you guys were classic Ken and Barbie - very fitting. My grandma Overman had a vintage Barbie doll and I always loved playing with it. She had the cutest clothes and clutches!
